We are at 1611 Linden Avenue 407, New York, NY 10011 — two blocks from the 86th Street station, with step-free access on Linden Avenue and bicycle racks in the forecourt. The lantern court café serves lunch daily until one hour before closing.

Tickets are timed in half-hour slots and include all permanent galleries plus the exhibitions on view. School groups and children visit free every Wednesday morning.

Guided experiences

TOURS & GROUPS

Daily docent walks leave the rotunda at 11:00 and 14:00 and last about an hour. Lantern-lit evening tours run every Friday at 19:30, ending with tea in the court — reserve ahead, as groups are capped at twelve.

Private tours, school programs and foreign-language visits in six languages are arranged through the welcome desk at (212) 555-0147.

VISITOR QUESTIONS

Photography without flash is welcome in the permanent galleries. Special exhibitions and loaned works are marked at the door — look for the small lantern symbol.

Yes. Every floor is reached by lift, the rotunda ramp is fully step-free, and wheelchairs are lent free at the welcome desk.

Pencils and small pads are welcome everywhere; easels and wet media are reserved for Wednesday sketch mornings. Stools are provided free of charge.

The lantern court café serves soups, salads and pastries daily, and the garden terrace opens for picnics from May to October.
